Sourcing: new BLOCK algorithm

Sourcing is a specific module in Grand Shooting. It allows distributors to manage thousands of images in a few clicks as part of the sourcing of supplier images.

A new algorithm has been implemented to have better performance on file names that are made up of different blocks isolated from your catalog. It replaces the old FULL mode.

Do not hesitate to test it, it is available from the left column of your Sourcing application!

In addition, by clicking on the mode Block, you can refine the reconciliation on specific columns in the catalog for better results!

API: new entry points

The Grand Shooting API is freely available at api.grand-shooting.com

New entry points are available:

  • Media: Contribution of visible references on the media (cross sell and duplication)
  • Productions: Manipulation of production templates and exports
  • Creation of shooting methods
  • Handling GS transfers
  • Contribution of the specifications

API: viewing tags

The media search has been enriched with a new tag filter.

In addition, we provide tag information directly in the media search result (no need to make additional calls for each media).

New export variable

Exports allow, among other things, to ensure automatic renaming thanks to various possible variables (catalog column, view code, etc...).

The new variable {$ext} allows you to keep the extension of the original file.

In our example, the file will be named as follows: {REF} _ {$VIEW}. {$ext}

{REF} product reference from catalog
{$VIEW} view code
{$ext} extension from the file loaded in postproduction

Tag management: create a tag thesaurus

From the Live or the editing stages, you can tag your media to feed the search filters. The fields are free.

From production settings, section Alerts and Workflow > Advanced Settings, it is now possible to predefine the list of tags to apply.

Check the box Predefine the tag list and add the desired tags:

Once registered, you will find the list of tags on the Live as well as on the editing steps (phase 1 and phase 2) using the action drop-down menu. A quick solution to work better as a team!

Production metadata

When creating productions, you can add various information related to them: name of the members of the shooting team, deadline for media rights, or any other information important to your organization.

Now, Grand Shooting makes it possible to integrate this information into the metadata of the final media.

The procedure to follow is as follows:

  • Complete the Information from the production parameters:

  • In the section Alerts and workflow > party Exported file metadata, add the variables corresponding to what you want to include in the metadata.
To constitute the variable, simply indicate the name of the desired information field surrounded by {$info. and }.

For example, for the field named Mannequin, the variable will be {$info.Mannequin}.
In our example, we chose to include them in the Copyright section.

As with all production parameters, feel free to add the variables you want in the production templates to automate the implementation of these fields for each new production.

New version of the sync app

The synch application is mainly used by capture operators (digital operators, photographers, etc.) and by retouchers. It allows images to be sent instantly from their workstation to Grand Shooting.

The new sync app lists the files on Grand Shooting, and you can decide to sync only certain subfolders.
It offers many practical functions such as downloading capture folders, or adding files by drag and drop without having to sync everything.
