In some organizations, the management of physical products (corresponding to Articles in GS) is essential: to ensure nothing is overlooked and that every Reference to be shot on site is accounted for, we have designed the Logistics module.

[[gsHeadsUp]]By default, the Logistics module is not activated. Ask GS Support to enable it so that it appears on the homepage.

The principle is simple: you create lists of Articles grouped into Batches. The Articles represent the physical products that follow a workflow, with statuses that you can use according to your needs:

  • statuses to track Articles in a photo studio: received, prepared, returned
  • broader statuses to track them from storage warehouses: in stock, warehouse picking, shipped, …
The Logistics module is organized into Batches. The progress of the workflows is reported for each Batch.

In practice, it is not necessary to wait until the end of Post-production to resend the Articles. That is why the metrics count the References with missing views by surveying the files in all active Productions.

All the Articles in this Batch have been shot.

It is possible to integrate the GS API with third-party systems (e.g., Reflex or Nodhos) to display in GS the Articles in stock at the warehouse, to order the shipment of Articles from GS to the photo studios, and more generally to track the flows between warehouses and photo studios.

If the Articles are tagged (with barcodes, QR codes), they can, of course, be scanned in all GS screens – particularly in the Logistics module during the reception and return-to-warehouse stages.

The GS Reporting module offers 2 reports related to Logistics:

  1. A list of all Batches with the status of every Article assigned to a Batch in GS.
  2. A listing of all logistical movements, meaning all the status changes of the Articles within the Logistics workflow.

The Logistics module integrates with the Catalog. It allows you to track the references for which at least one article is in stock.
