The new zoom centralizes all the information and actions needed to review, annotate, and approve your files. With its customization options and advanced display modes, you can tailor the interface to your needs for an optimal workflow. The zoom featured in this article is currently available in beta version.

Introduction

The new zoom screen offers an enriched experience for viewing and annotating your files. With its redesigned interface, you now have access to more information, new display modes, and advanced customization options.

Accessing the Zoom

The zoom is accessible from several Grand Shooting screens:

  • Live
  • Phase 1 of Post-production
  • Phase 2 of Post-production
  • Approval

To open a file in zoom mode, simply click on the file from one of these screens.

The Zoom Interface

The zoom interface consists of three main areas:

The Tool Palette

The tool palette allows you to annotate your files with precision:

  • Hide Annotations: hides or shows all annotations
  • Color Choice: red, green, or blue for your annotations
  • Movement Tool: allows you to move around the file and deselect a tool
  • Freehand Drawing: draw freely on the file
  • Rectangle: draw rectangles or squares
  • Arrow: add directional arrows
  • Text: place a text bubble at a specific location on the file
  • Cropping: access the cropping tool
  • Undo: cancels the last annotation
  • Delete: deletes all annotations

The Central Area

In the center, the file is displayed with:

  1. **Navigation**Use the arrows visible on the interface or the keyboard arrows to move from one file to another
  2. **Counter**View your position in the selection (e.g., 1/4)
  3. **Editing Information**Find the name, stars, colors, tags, and status of the file
  4. **Duration**How long the file has been available
  5. **View Code**File's view code

The Information Panel

The right panel groups all the information related to the file:

  • File
    - File name
    - Folder
    - View
    - Weight
    - Dimensions (height and width)
    - ICC Profile

    The File menu offers the option to rename the name by clicking on the pencil. If you are in Live or the post-production stages, an editable field appears. If you are in the Approval stage, a form allows you to change references and/or complete catalog information.
  • Catalog: All associated catalog information
  • Information: Contributed information on the production: model, photographers, usage rights, etc.
  • History: Complete history of the file: actions performed, by whom, and when
  • Comments: Groups all exchanges related to the file:
    - Add a general comment: enter your text in the provided field
    - Consult the history: view the entirety of text comments added to the file
    - Text bubbles: also find all text bubbles added directly on the file via the annotation tool

The right panel can be collapsed using the arrow at the top of the panel to maximize display space.

Display Modes

In addition to the standard view, the zoom offers three complementary display modes (accessible from the top bar):

Versions

Allows you to compare the file before and after processing to visualize the evolution of the retouching.

If multiple versions have already been proposed (for example, in Approval), the dropdown menu allows you to select the desired version. You find the retouching instructions requested on each version. The comment section on the right column is divided into 2. You find the comments of the displayed version by clicking on B.

By default, the dropdown menu displays the versions from Live and Approval. You can show/hide the versions from phase 1 or phase 2 via the customization tab (see Customize Display section).

The keyboard shortcut V enables/disables the Version mode.

Reference Media

Displays all files linked to the same product reference across all productions to facilitate comparison between different views. Download is available on hover of each file.

The title of each file's production is located at the top of the screen. It is clickable if the production is still active.

Go to the display customization to see the available options.

The keyboard shortcut R enables/disables the Reference Media mode.

Templates

Activates the display of templates indicated in your specifications over the file to ensure proper alignment of products.

Customize Display

The zoom is fully customizable according to your needs.

Click on the customization icon (in the top bar) to access the following options:

  • Zoom Size: Adjust the zoom level using the slider.
  • Presentation: Activate or deactivate the Versions and Reference Media modes
    - Version: you choose the available phases in the version dropdown menu for simplicity
    - Reference Media: you refine the visible files by filtering on shooting methods, file statuses, and exports to see only what interests you.
  • Attributes: Choose which information to display on the file:
    - File name
    - View code
    - Star
    - Colors
    - Tags
    - Templates
  • Background :
    - Choose the background color among 4 options (white, light gray, dark gray, black)
    - Hide the areas outside the frame of the file when using the cropping tool
  • Fullscreen Mode: Activate fullscreen mode for total immersion in the file.
