The Star Size is an attribute visible for Articles.
To understand its importance, let’s take the example from the ready-to-wear sector with the shorts shown below:
This is the Reference “HP_MODVAR_102103947”. For this Reference, there are several Articles—each Article corresponds to a variant of the Reference in a specific size:
Depending on the gender (in this case, Menswear), ideally there should be one size that can be worn by the model: this is the Star Size (identified in GS by a pink heart).

In general, the Star Size is the size to prioritize when several Articles of the same Reference can be ordered to be sent to the photo studios. It must be configured for each product family in the Catalog.
