HomeGlossarySpecifications

Alongside the Catalog, the Specifications is the second central element of GS. Organized by Product Categories, it establishes a standard with the expected media.

It is not mandatory to configure the Specifications to use GS. Without them, GS will not know which media are missing or, conversely, not expected. Nonetheless, the workflows remain functional.

Once you have configured the Shooting Methods, you define the media expected for each Product Category and for each Shooting Method.

In this example, the Product Category “4083” specifies expected media for the “Worn” and “Packshot” Shooting Methods.

It is possible to limit the Specifications to the expected technical requirements of the media. However, you can also add an artistic direction with examples and textual guidelines:

The technical characteristics of the media are documented in Formats:

  • The Specifications may include one or several Formats.
  • For each expected media, the Specifications indicate which Format applies. Several formats can be activated for a given view.
Here, the Format “CARRE_L_CENTRE” expects a JPEG image, sized 2200x2400 pixels, with an sRGB ICC profile and a centered template with margins defined as percentages.
