The Productions are the core of the GS engine: each Production is an instance of a workflow, most often created from a Template.
Throughout this workflow, media files are uploaded, annotated, and reprocessed (either manually or automatically) until they receive final Approval, or even until they reach Publication if the validated visuals are automatically transmitted to third-party systems.
Depending on your license and account settings, the presentation of Productions varies:
A Production remains in “active” status as long as its media are being processed through the different stages of its workflow. Once the work is complete, the Production is archived (see Archiving).
The workflow of a Production is organized into 3, 4, or 5 stages:
Not every stage of a workflow is always accessible. When a Delegation is in place on your GS account, the delegated account may have the right to create Productions. In this case, the Post-production stages will not be accessible.
The same applies if you are using GS with an independent FREE account: you will only have access to those workflow stages for which explicit access has been granted.
One final note: by default, no automation is enabled in the workflow of Productions. When you upload media, the actions required to move files along their workflow are manual.
Contact GS Support to enable automations. They will deploy them on your account based on your needs and constraints.
